I am trying to open up the gear case on the motor, but the screws won’t budge. Thought I would come here for help BEFORE destroying the screw head. I am looking for tips on how to get them out. Obviously they are screws, so they should unscrew, but I was wondering if there was locktite used on them, or if they are just corroded in place?
Thanks in Advance.

November 27, 2025 at 9:23 am #301833Heat from a little propane bottle torch and an impact driver
should get them loose.
If you have no impact driver, heat up the case around the bolt,
the wrap on your screwdriver handle a few good wallops before
trying to loosen the bolts.
Leverage on your screwdriver, i.e., a adjustable wrench or vice-grips
comes in handy also.Prepare to be boarded!

November 27, 2025 at 10:02 am #301835sometimes when they won’t unscrew a short burst of an impect driver (1/4 inch no bigger) clockwise then reversed CCW will break the bond.
make certain you firmly push against the screw slots so the proper sized blade will not skip out !
