Does this split appear to be a problem if it is how would it b fixed ?

The wide split is normal for these engines. I am assuming this is what you are concerned about, let us know if not…

Yes the split is what I’m asking about that’s how I got it

so when I git it up & runnin it

the split won’t cause any problems ?

Correct, won’t cause any problems. That split is there so the steering friction can be tightened up with the screw if desired…
