Is there other gear cases that are compatible to the 56 Javeline 30 hp? Will 57 parts interchange with a 56 gear case?

Well, many different year gearcases will fit on your engine, as an assembly..  But, there were a few changes to the innards through the years.  So, you must be sure to make a note of the model year engine’s gearcase that you are using.

I guess what I really need to know is if a 57 prop shaft from a 35 hp Javeline is the same size as tha 56 30 hp Javeline

My parts lists for the 56 30hp Javelin and the 57 35hp Javelin both show the prop shaft with the same part number 302522, so the prop shafts should interchange.

                Why won’t marinengine.com ship internationally?

Yes, if your mounting holes are 2-1/4″ that would be for a 6V starter.

But I want to go to 12 volt? So I need a different bracket? Where to find one?

If you want to go 12V you will need a bracket from a ’57 Johnson 35hp, OMC part #376885.  They can be hard to come by, but post an ad here in Classifieds section and keep checking Ebay and some of the other websites that sell vintage outboard parts.
