Looking for a gear case diagram. Unable to get the brass screw plug holding in the prop shaft loose, not sure is there is a special trick or not.

I’ve heated the gear case around the brass screw in retainer, for the prop shaft. Still not able to get it to come loose. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the prop shaft comes out the front of the case. Which screw are you trying?

It was the retainer that holds the prop shaft in, on the inside is the seal, its made out of brass. It finally broke loose and came apart. The carrier bearing for the prop shaft gear was frozen up. Just got off the web. Found one, ordered. Now I need to find the water pump impeller.
It looked like they used grease in the gear case instead of heavy Oil. ???

Thanks, really appreicate the information. Would you have information on where to get the seal and gaskets needed on the lower gear case. Could get by with the old ones, but I’m this far into it, I should get new parts.

The easiest way probably is buy a seal by dimensions from NAPA or a bearing supply house. Or, there are lots of on-line places to get generic seals. And make your own gasket.

Working my way up. I pulled the flywheel today and find the coil is shot. Any ideas where I can find a coil and maybe points. Coil for sure. It’s a bendixs,
I see aviation on the coil, I think its kinda hard to see for sure.
