Another factor is whether it comes with a tank. Those tanks are getting pretty expensive if in good shape. A not running motor (not frozen) with no tank would be worth about $50 to me.
Perhaps you can post some pictures. Unfortunately, these great old engines are not usually worth very much unless they are in real nice original cosmetic and running condition. And yes, a good dual line tank that is clean inside is surely worth almost as much as the engine itself….
$50-60 CDN is my cut off then you need coils points condensors impeller metallic wires plug booth carb kit brings it up to $175-$200 but that is a heck of a lot better than rowing up river 🙂
and maybe a gearcase reseal job prop seal spagetthi seal sifter seal and drive shaft seal $$$$
yep.. parts are worth a lot more than the motor but……. I don’t play golf or smoke . beer yes
I have two of those that I paid $50 and $70 for with tanks. I put approx $75 in parts in each of them to get them runnin’ nice.
Those 10’s are not rare here in Minnesota. I see them advertised for up to $400 all the time, but the ads stay, so they aren’t selling.
