I noticed my main bushing part number 304800 was broke. I have a parts motor that had a good one so I used that but its also a 57 so age might be a problem with that one before long. Has anyone found a suitable way to make one as new is no longer available? I do use this motor occasionally so looking for something if this one breaks. Thanks,Jim
I haven’t tried it myself yet but this one appears to be very similar. It’s from an early 2000s 30 hp; and that whole midsection looks very close to earlier models that used the 304800. If I were a gambling man, I might try it. I think the picture is just showing protective caps on the threads(?)
Some guys have repaired broken mounts by drilling through the rubber and running a long bolt right through. Haven’t tried this myself, but seems like a reasonable repair solution.
If the aluminum fastener has separated from the rubber itself, it can be repaired using super glue.
Both pieces must be really clean and after applying the glue and lining the pieces up correctly, I lightly clamp them in a vice overnight. Works every time!
I just went out and superglued it so if that doesnt work I will run a bolt threw. Just a spare now and hope I dont need to use it. Seperated by the first rib but the superglue says rubber and metal so hoping for the best. Thanks, Jim
