      While converting this motor to short shaft, I thought it would be a good time to service the water pump.

      Can you see what I see?

        Seal is upside down.

          That’s what I thought to at first but it has two seals installed. Back to back. It’s something else.

            Impeller arms bent wrong direction.

              Yup. All six of them. It must have been installed this way going by the wear on the tips of the vanes but at least it came with a new pump housing and grommet installed correctly.

                That old pump housing had a good amount of scale buildup. Wonder what the powerhead water jackets look like?
