Ok, Tried my newly restored ’58 18hp with single Mikumi fuel pump conversion on Coffeen Lake, Montgomery Co. Il this past Saturday. Have a new plastic tank and primer bulb line with fresh 24:1 fuel. Readjusted low speed idle and she purred and chugged water like she should. The question is when I go to full throttle she runs maybe two minutes and will start to sputter but if I refresh the primer bulb(which feels half full) she runs great again. From what I”ve read online I have the right size pump. I’ve found the high speed sweet spot but obviously she’s starving for fuel. Open to anyone’s thoughts.

How are the O rings in both connectors on the hose? If they are damaged or cracked, they will allow air into the fuel system which may be causing your lean condition. The Mikuni pump can supply an 18 running at WOT?

          Which model Mikuni?

You opened the tank vent right?!

Also, remove the filter and try again. If it now stays running at WOT, change the filter.

New connectors and tank vent open. I will try the filter removal and go from there. Thanks
