I have found a remote wiring box for my 1958 Johnson 35HP motor. The Pos. and Neg. battery cables are dry rotted. Can anyone tell me where to get replacement cables? They are 36 inches long.

Also, the Positive cable that runs from the starter to the plug socket on the motor side has crumbling insulation on it. The wiring and the connector are in good shape. Does anyone make a heat shrink material that I can slide over the connector and heat shrink to fit?

      Thank you for your help.

Generic battery cables are easy to find at your local auto parts store.

Consider the pleated cable wrap stuff, also at auto parts stores to cover the cable. More flexible than heat shrink.

Thank you Frank. My auto parts store does not have 36 inch battery cables (Napa). Either that or the cable ends have the wrong connectors. I can buy cable and I can buy connectors but then I don’t have tools to put it all together (another excuse to buy tools…good). All for one set seems overkill to me.
That is why I was asking if there are places to get them already made up.
