Good Morning
I just picked up a 1959 Gale Sovereign in really good condition. The previous owner had bought it to use on a period boat and then decided that a new evinrude etec with emblems removed would be just fine.
So the motor has had all new electrical components installed and I think will need to have the points gapped appropriately as the owner said he didnt really know how to properly adjust.
The lower case has been sealed and new impeller so I would hope that I am off to a good start on this one.
It has an interesting fuel pump with build in filter which I haven’t seen before so hope that it is functioning. I know it has a lot of parts interchangeable with its Evinrude/Johnson cousins but there may be some differences as well I am sure.
So after that long winded chinwag, I was wondering if anyone has the specific parts manual available for this outboard.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Bill

Though looking at the Parts List that Frank posted the cowl looks different. I should have investigated. I believe that the outboard I got is newer. Likely an early 1960’s version. I will have to go to the shed and get the model number as I think it is not a 1959 now.
Sorry I will gladly file away all this documents though for future reference.
Is it still a bit of an exercise posting pictures to the form? Have to a photo bucket or something like that?
