just picked up a very nice running 59 5.5 evinrude just got done going through the motor and went to drian lower unit and there was a little water mixed in no one in my area can get the drian and vent gasket my question is has any one used o-ring’s on the screws to seal them and i am using lubrimatic hi vis 80-90 for the lube is that correct for this year motor or is it suppose to be grease.

No one has crush washers??! Boy, should be able to get them just about anywhere! Don’t use o rings.
June 13, 2016 at 11:04 pm #38221Original part #307522 or Sierra #18-2945. Later plastic style is #311598 or Sierra #18-4248-9 five pack. Should be able to get the Sierra parts at some NAPA Auto Parts stores? Orings won’t work except on the plugs that were designed to take them. They had a cavity designed into the plug to allow the oring to seal without being squished out.

I really wish there was some bulk source of some generic part where the cost per washer is in the pennies… I like checking the oil after any time I run an engine.
Best price I could find today was $31.82 for 50 (on a limited time special) which is still 64 cents each….
