Hello all, Just picked up a very nice 59 elgin 7.5 that runs great but pumps no water, going to drop the lower unit and check/replace the impeller. What is the proceedure and any tips? Have done plenty of OMC impellers but first elgin in my fleet. Any tips on a supplier for the impeller? Someone mentioned a fellow in new york but i dont remember his name. Thank You

First you are are going to have to find the model number to determine who the manufacturer was for your motor. Most Sears Elgins were built by West Bend but around that time McCulloch started building motors for Sears which also had the Elgin name on them. Model numbers starting with 571 are West Bend products while 574 models are from McCulloch.

That’s a West Bend. Club member Brian Wilcox makes impellers. You send him your old hub/exchange.
