      I can”t find the ID plate on my 1959 Evinrude Fisherman 5.5

        Should be on the side of the transom clamp. Look for remnants of the rivets if you can’t find the id plate.

          There should be a welch plug on the side of the crankcase. Look at Mike Nazarenko’s thread for a pic. I believe it’s all the way at the end of his post, Power Head Cross Reference for 1958 Evinrude Fisherman 5516

            Hi, I found it. It had been taped over with masking tape and painted.
