      I’m repainting a ’59 Johnson 18HP motor. The recoil starter is not painted at all. Did these motors come from the factory with unpainted recoils? I’m not sure if I should paint this or not.

        Can’t say that I’ve ever seen one unpainted unless it was a replacement part.
