Hello Guys,
Looking for a replacement diaphragm for the fuel p[ump which seems to NLA.. Is there asource or someone making them? Thanks
April 21, 2020 at 2:22 pm #200694there are lots of pumps on internet with less worries and price of a diaphragm … some folks like them some don’t … snail mail service but cheap
some folks have cut some from nitrile work gloves material

This is where I bought some material once.
Prepare to be boarded!
April 21, 2020 at 4:01 pm #200708If your 1960 still has the original pump, it has a two-layered diaphragm, held together with a diaphragm support washer and rivet. The diaphragm support washer keeps the spring in place. Try a different scheme and the parts are likely to skoot out of place and destroy the diaphragm. But go ahead and try. I did.
April 21, 2020 at 5:00 pm #200730you will need this.. read 3 times before starting
scribe the outside edge of the parts on one side this will help you reorient (stack) the parts after
hold down the springs on their resting ” nipple” with a touch of crazy glue same for the little mushroom caps on the springs otherwise they fly away work on a large clean surface
i’ve down a few but…. I like the Chinese pumps .. it is easier
do a blow test after assembly air flows in to out but air does not flow out to in

April 21, 2020 at 6:12 pm #200735April 21, 2020 at 8:49 pm #200752Since I had diaphragm material I went ahead and made two new ones. Used a punch to carefully separate the rivet. Reused the rivet and washers, and seems to work.
I really wanted to try to keep the original pump. I know I could replace it with a newer square pump. Thanks
April 23, 2020 at 11:36 am #200864Have you tried Marineengine.com? They have blown up diagrams where you can see what part you need. I often grab the model number and throw it into eBay to get cheaper prices and cheaper shipping.
