      I’m just trying to re-install the distributer after resetting the spark gap. It will slide up the shaft but I can’t get it to slide all the way on. Is there some technique to this? Do I turn the engine by hand?

        on the mag shaft there is a flat. line it up with the hard to see notch in the upper shaft. and it will go in.
