I believe that year had the vacuum cut-out switch which will ground the points if the motor goes into hi-revs. I’m not sure what RPM/vacuum it is calibrated for, but that could be your culprit. If the engine dies suddenly rather than throttles down due to fuel starvation, then it’s worth looking int.

The cutout only kills one cylinder.

Thank you, but the first thing I do is eliminate that vacuum switch.

I retested today here is a video
            https://youtu.be/Hmyixmpy32c?list=PL8we … IgnvCrx6vz

you ll see at 44 seconds and 2:44 how the motor dies. I keep it running by backing off the throttle.
I postedthis vid in a new topic, same name "part 2" thanks

Ignition cut out for sure. My guess is a bad condensor, its ok until it saturates and shorts out. Replace both.

Yeah that sounds just like you went down to a 20hp motor…! Motor didn’t quit, but you can hear it running on one cylinder. Check the condensers…mentioned that in my earlier post but it seems very much like an ignition issue.

I will replace points and condensors for sure.
                  thanks

The points seem to be fine, otherwise it would not run that well. Save your money.

Did you try disconnecting the mag plate primary leads from the cut out/harness wiring?

                        Thanks Guys,

If the condensor(s) were bad, wouldnt they malfuntion at low RPMs as well as high RPMs. This proplem only happens at WOT.
                        Thanks again
