      hi all,its been awhile since I got an old motor to work on but just got this Evinrude.

      I’m looking for the part number of the cylinder head on a 1964 evinrude 28hp, model# 28402M .

      marineengine.com part list state : 0379517. But the stamp on the old head states: 309055.

      Ebay has 379517 and looks like it. got no hits looking up 309055.

      did they change part number? are they the same? should I get it?

        US MEMBER PAY BY CHECK

        0379517 is the correct part number. You cannot go by the number cast on the head–that is the casting number before the part is finished.

            309055 is not a valid OMC P/N.
