Have a 1966 Mercury 3.9hp motor. Trying to find out what other larger motors were offered in 1966,
so I can search one out to put on my boat along with the 3.9. Checked at the library; also "The Old Outboard Book"
with no success. Thanks for any help!April 19, 2016 at 5:37 pm #35083Go to East Coast Marine and there is a chart for Mercury motors from 1964 up to 1966. You can find it on the "Link" page.
April 19, 2016 at 8:02 pm #35088See if this link works…. http://www.boatinfo.no/lib/mercury/broc … ry.html#/0 BTW, lots of good stuff here… http://www.boatinfo.no/lib/library.html
If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.
April 19, 2016 at 9:19 pm #35091Too bad you didn’t post this on the Dockside Chat page. I can post pictures their.
However you seem to have gotten a way to a 1966 Mercury brochure . . . . 😀

April 20, 2016 at 8:16 pm #35143Thanks to each of you for the info. I was able to print the brochure that Kerry provided, with photos and also a specification chart of all the 1966 Mercury motors – just what I was looking for. Thank you Rick, for East Coast Marine. I made some wrong assumptions – found some info on Google with that.
I’m not sure what Dockside Chat page is, Garry. Assume that is a screen on the AOMCI website and will seek it out for future use. Thanks for providing me with that.April 21, 2016 at 10:30 am #35179If you’re looking for a motor to go on the 14 or 15 footer, that Merc 500 that year was a dandy. In my opinion, it was the best Merc of that year. Those 3.9’s were really popular too.
April 24, 2016 at 6:12 pm #35404Thank you Thank you, 1946Zephyr. I’m a Johnson guy, and know nothing of the Mercury line. That is a big help/

click on "Board Index"
and scroll down.A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
April 26, 2016 at 3:49 am #35519Thank you Tubs. Never knew about that. Will check that out in the future!
