I appreciate any help in advance. I was having some trouble with my motor listed in the title. I bought a carb rebuild kit and went at it. Not my first rebuild but a first on this one. I should note that I’m by no means an expert though. As I was finishing up I decided to remove a brass tube I saw to check for any other offices. It appeared to unscrew (slotted head) but it wouldn’t. I thought I could gently persuade it with channel locks. It smooshed a little and I quickly changed my mind about removing it. I’d better smoosh it back and move on I thought. The second smoosh destroyed it. Now here I am… 😑
I was told it’s called a nozzle. I found it to be called an emulsion tube in a couple places. I can’t find this particular part online anywhere. I also can’t find a replacement carb. The part is a holler brass tube. One end is cut at about 45 degrees. The other is flat with a few pin holes on the “shaft”. It goes from the float bowl up into the carb body. It’s pressed in, not screwed.
Any help with a replacement part or carb would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
July 7, 2021 at 4:10 pm #242182OK, well here is a link to a breakdown with the part numbers:
https://www.marineengine.com/parts/johnson-evinrude-parts.php?year=1970&hp=25&model=25R70E&manufacturer=Johnson§ion=Carburetor+GroupDoesn’t look like the carb body or assembly is available though…
Here are a few on ebay:

Please be sure you can return these items in case they are not as described, or perhaps damaged, before buying….Perhaps you can negotiate the price a bit as well, that is up to you…

July 7, 2021 at 5:06 pm #242187Thanks for your help Don! You reckon that body has the tube in it? It’s hard to tell on mobile.

DonJuly 7, 2021 at 8:06 pm #242204I just bought it! Thank you again!
My body decided to jump before my mind told me what the hell was happening. I dispatched it (it was under my kids swing). We made our first attempt at grilled snake tonight. We kill it we eat it….it’s gonna take some practice cooking lol
July 7, 2021 at 8:13 pm #242206I swore up and down to my girlfriend that it was called the high speed nozzle. Google told me it was an emulsion tube. And the man who sent me here called it a nozzle. Such confusion! It appreciate you and the fella who sent me here though!

High speed nozzle/emulsion tube, means the same thing….The important thing is that it is included with the carb body assembly you bought…There would be no way to put one in there anyway, it is cast in place, not threaded, as you found out….Wish OMC didn’t put those notches in it, making it look like it is threaded in place…

Glad you found a carb at a reasonable price – those EBay prices are outrageous. By the way, I’m the guy who sent you here. And I learned something too. Didn’t realize those nozzles were cast into the body on the 25’s. Different setup for different models. I believe most are removable.

The other important thing is you dispatched that dang snake before it dispatched you!I remember when I overhauled the carb on my ’72 25hp, I initially thought those notches in the nozzle were there so you could unscrew the thing. I tweaked on it just a bit with a screwdriver and it wouldn’t budge so I just left it alone. Glad I did.
