Hi,
I’m looking for the right paint to restore a 1973 65 hp Evinrude outboard engine to its original condition. Can you help on the best way to get to the original colors? Should I search for a color code, color chip, paint formula or maybe something else?
Unfortunately, the engine was painted white all over so I lost any chance to pick the original colors and ask an auto paint shop to mix it.
Being in Europe is also not helping. I cannot find any support or spare parts for Evinrude engines around here.
Thanks for the opportunity to ask the experts. I’ve tried searching for this information online but couldn’t get to any conclusion.
Thanks,

August 27, 2019 at 7:31 am #182090Thanks. Those pictures are great and give a good idea of the original colors! I’ll check if an auto paint shop can use the pictures to mix the color. Do you have any experience on that? Would you recommend using acrylic or urethane based paint for the job?
I’ve tried nymarine but they are not shipping paint to Europe.
Thanks again,
