      • I’m currently rebuilding the powered on a 1975 Mercury 110 9.8hp.  I’m looking for a new set of std. Piston rings but can’t find any under the number Mercury lists.  Any ideas?  These are 3 ring pistons.  Also looking for guidance on installing these piston without using the Mercury ring compressors.  Any help is appreciated.

        Wow, my jaw dropped when I saw those are no longer available. I think these are available on eBay, as of right now, anyway. Crowley and Marine Engine don’t have them.

        As for installing without the correct compressors….It can be done I guess but I would plan on breaking a few more of the NLA rings….a sin. Better to find somebody who can help you with the right tool, for that step.
