1978 25 horse Johnson red plug vs black plug

I have a 1978 25 horse Johnson that takes power pack. I just replaced the internal harness with a CDI harness which has a black plug. Can I use red plug external harness??????

Well, I don’t think the pins line up between the black plug and red plug harness. I would contact CDI and explain the situation, it is possible that the pins actually do match, CDI just used a black plug.
