My roller has an indention in it and I plan to replace it soon before it gets worse. I can’t seem to pop it off the follower. I’m afraid I will break the follower if I apply any more pressure. Will this thing come off without destroying it or do I need to buy the follower/roller assembly?

      Thank you

I’ve always bought the 0396236 assembly, but the roller must come off because the parts are sold separately. There have been updates in the roller materials over the years – it now has a clear material over the black roller. If you replace just the roller, be sure the shaft it mounts to is good so it doesn’t bind up. The roller getting stuck is what gives the wear in your photo. By replacing with the assembly, you know it’s going to work. The new bracket is black plastic while the old one is white, so they may have done a change in the type of plastic used.

Doesn’t that roller have a tiny tiny rubber"O" ring in the center holding it in? Dig it out with a SHARP pointed weapon of your own choice. LOL Stan

I don’t see the oring in the parts breakdown, I think the roller just pops off. Have a look, perhaps there is an oring, should be visible if it is there.

is it possible to slide a thin metallic ring over it and glue it and simply readjust the cam ?

it probably wore groove from… not rolling enough

              just a suggestion

Mine was worn so I took the roller off and slid it on a philips screwdriver and spun it on my grinder to true the outside. Then I used shrink tubing around the outside. Polyolifin is used for castor wheels sometimes so it is tough.
