I am working on a friend’s motor. The impeller had completely lost its vanes. I replaced the impeller and found many pieces of the vanes down in the pump chamber, but am sure that was not all of them.

The motor runs and pumps, with water coming from the exhaust relief holes, but the motor runs hot. I removed the exhaust cover and the cylinder head jacket cover (the motor does not have a detachable cylinder head) and checked all the passages, but can find no obstructions. I had already blown out the water feed tube (LU removed) from both directions.

What else am I missing? Is there another access point to the cooling jackets?

      Thanks!

Under the powerhead is a grommet that melts in overheat and partially shuts off the water supply its replacement is a better material
