I know oil is a crazy hot topic. But I have to ask. Does anyone use amsoil 100 to one saber? I’d like to try amsoil. I guess this is the oil I keep hearing about. Or should I stick to something else? I’m restoring a 1955 RDE-17 to use HEAVY on our little 14ft. Aluminum boat. I don’t want to mess anything up. I’m pretty sure 24 to 1 is factory specs. Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

I’ve used Amsoil for many, many years. I use it in all my old motors including RBMs at 30 to 1 and have never had a problem. I know there’ll be those that say i’m nuts for using it 30 to 1 in motors calling for 8 to 1 or 16 to one etc. but again after 30 years I’ve never had one problem, just alot less smoke.

I have been using Amsoil in my RD 17, running it at 32:1 . Same with all my all my other 1950’s engines. With all the talk going on , I am going to go a little richer on the oil. I do like the Amsoil product.
