Also bought a big twin today. It apparently runs, which I will check tomorrow, and I will be regreasing the LU and getting it into good shape before I consider selling it (largely due to size for storage purposes). Assuming I get it running, what is the going rate for these in the condition it’s in. Long 2.5-3+ foot long tiller handle, and good overall shape as can be seen in pictures. Allegedly it does not have any sort of cooling issues and has been run for good long periods in the past few years, so it should be a good runner once I test it out.

March 28, 2026 at 10:13 pm #312615Dude you seem to have a habit of asking what a motor is worth after you bought it. Fine, I’ll play.
Its worth at least 20 bucks less than you paid for it. Hope this helps.

March 28, 2026 at 10:30 pm #312628I don’t mind buying a couple motors without fully knowing their value, but then like to ask because I don’t want to ask too much for a motor(or too little) when I resell it because I don’t want to give any of those “I know what it is worth from eBay” people any ideas. I just don’t recall finding any big twins at the few meets I’ve been to so I can’t have anywhere to base the value off of.

March 28, 2026 at 10:36 pm #312630You mentioned in a different post that you got five motors plus two motor stands for $325. Based on what I see, I’d say you did rather well in that transaction. You bought seven items so the average price works out to a little over 46 bucks apiece. Sounds like the seller wanted to help out a young guy and didn’t try to fleece him in the process.

March 28, 2026 at 10:42 pm #312640I’d say that was about right.
