This is far as I got to pull out a bent prop shaft. This motor has been sitting awhile and I would like to get in there further and check out the gears and driveshaft but am unsure on how to proceed. Doesn’t seem to be a lot of info out there for these motors 🙁
      Thanks

I don’t see the prop shaft. did you already remove it? I believe the gear should then drop out giving access to the driveshaft pinion gear. If I am wrong, I have full confidence I will quickly be corrected . . .

The hole in the gear was a screw that held the hollow prop shaft in place. I got close to straightening the threads out but the shaft is still slightly bent. Someone else may be able to straighten it out but Doug has one for me. It’s probably something simple but I just don’t want to be prying around in there yet.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Ha! I’ve been watching that Tubs. Just hope if I get it it’s close enough for what I need it for.

I emailed Art awhile back and he said all he had was a 12 pg owners manual.

If you have questions about any Lockwood outboard, why do you not contact the AOMCI Special Interest Group Leader for Lockwood Outboards, Chris Scratch. He has all the records from Dave Lockwood and Chris is a wealth of information.
