Nice looking single cylinder Bucaneer needs an impeller. The 2.5 Johnson used one with the same ID, but just a little difference on the OD. Would the Johnson part work until I can find something to cut a better one from? Looks like all these parts I have left are used, while I have NOS for the Johnsons.

Just looking for a quick fix, until I can locate the 1/4″ thick mud flap I have been using to make more of these.

Melgulin , what are the dimensions of the rotor that you are going to make? I looked at this website (McMaster Carr) and found rubber stock. There is multiple thickness and width of the stock as well as noted heat and chemical resistances. Do you know the hardness of the rubber stock you were using?

Here is a chart with description of the qualities of the materials.

            Which would you recommend?

I didn’t check the durometer of the mudflap which came off a semi. It worked quite well, as it had canvas integrated into the material. Not too long ago I had quite a few NOS impellors and gave several away. The second box, which I kept, I found out were used ones. Until I find a piece of used rubber that will work, I’ll just take a new one out of one my unfinished projects. Got half way done with a junker a couple of years ago and have been finding much better motors ever since. Still have a good supply of other eccentric impellors. Just wanted to know if the 2.5 Johnson would pump enough to cool a 3hp Gale product. It might not hurt to buy some rubber stock for next time. Thanks
