I was just given a long shaft 1978 Evinrude 4 hp (4837E). I plan to find it a new home at the upcoming FL Chapter Suwanee River meet. What is the oil ratio for it? I want to see if it runs. Pulls over easy (not very much resistance). Haven’t found an answer in the few minutes of online research so far… Thanks.

50:1 should be fine TWC 3 oil

Mixed a gallon of gas, hooked her up in a bucket…about 6 pulls and she runs great. Pushes water but I will put in a new impeller, change the lower oil,
and run her in a couple weeks at Suwanee before I hope she finds a new home. She’s a bit small to push this fat man around in a tinny for very long.
