I have a leak coming from the hole between the spark plugs where the hood is mounted. That cylinder is getting hot. Any suggestions?

What’s it leaking, water or fuel mix? Those are blind holes for the front cover screws and shouldn’t be leaking anything.

This is a Light Four but your Zephyr is similar.

Its leaking water. The water pump is working fine but water also comes running out of this hole while the water pump is pumping. Sometimes it will stop for a few seconds but then it starts running out again. The water pump keeps pumping out the back like it should.

I would say that it’s a fault in the casting. You may have to replace that side, if it is going to create a problem. As was stated: it shouldn’t be leaking at all.

The cylinder might be cracked from freezing or taking a fall. How about using a bit of sealer on the cover screws if the motor runs good?

That side gets hot after about ten minutes of running if you feel the side of the cylinder.

Here is the 4404 model – It has a push button primer instead of a choke and a cam under the magneto to synchronize the throttle. . . 😉
