Hello, A previous post by Gary in Michigan (thanks) states the correct condenser for a Johnson Td 20 is Pn# 300153 and it has a mf rating of .2 (.15-.205). I pulled my condensers and checked them with my Honeytek digital meter and one shows .221 mf and the other .261mf. My questions are if their higher readings are an issue and if there is an acceptable aftermarket condenser someone has used and can reccomend. I have no idea if mine are original or have been previously replaced.

According to the extensive testing by M.Mohat in the Outboarded articles a little extra capacitance is nothing to worry about…

you variations are minimal .

any .22uf capacitor should be fine as long as the voltag tolerance level is high enough ….630v and up

your tested condenser may test good but fail under load. they realy need to be tested with high voltages (275V+) to detect internal leaks
