I need to buy The kit with all the seals gaskets and O-rings for my 1951 big twin, where’s the best place to buy them? And will later kits from 1954 on work ? Thank you in advance Randy in Tampa 😎

I don’t think anyone list a kit Randy. It’s a matter of comparing all of the OMC numbers with the kits (Sierra) from later models to see which are the most compatible then buy anything that is different. We have had this question enought, I guess the next person who does it needs to make a list or their own kit! Hint Hint!! Do you have a ’51 Big Twin parts book? If you don’t, I can do it for you. Just let me know.

Thanks Chris, is that kit on the money or do you need anything else? Is anything different?

                  Nope, covers it all.

Im not sure why Sierra says its only good from a certain year on? Dunno but all the seals are the same as the later model Big Twins.

Thanks again Chris! I worked with a parts distributor for 5 yrs after OMC and got familiar with Sierra listings. Whoever works for them was not very experienced with OMC family engine history or the years it changed. Their parts list are often incomplete and sometimes just plain wrong! I’m not knowledgeable enough with Mercury to tell if they have the same problems with that product line.
