I have a feeling the center clip shown is not the proper clutch lever spring that is used to attach the two parts. It feel apart on removal. Seemed to work ok before I took it apart. Judging by the part numbers the lower unit is from an earlier model. I believe they started making this model in ’50? There happens to be a local hardware store that carries a lot of oddball parts. I’m hoping to find some kind of spring that would work if I get an idea how they go together. I saw a guy playing with one on you tube but I couldn’t see the spring mechanism to well. If the clip shown is the correct part I guess I’m just rambling.
