Mark 55s had fuel pumps. Mark 50s had the pressure system.

          Thanks all,
I’m in need of some info on this engine….
          Best manual(s) to get?
          Anyone try those downloadable ones?

Yes… The problem with most of then is that they’re PDF files that are created from scanned images of the paper manual. You won’t be able to text search them. I suppose they may have their place though.

I was lucky… My 55/55 came with an original one complete with notes from the original owner.

chinewalker I understand that but when merc went to fuel pump the used up there stock of pressure tanks by modifying them for single line fuel pump motors then when they ran out of those the brought out the newer single line tanks . hope this clears this up.

Gotcha. Thought we were still referring to the motor, not the tank…

                Ok…
I received the Factory manual as suggested,
                Scored a set of controls,
Still looking for proper fuel tank.
Best place to get quality parts, impeller, carb kits….. ?
                Thanks,
                John

For merc parts I have always had great luck with Joe Poole from Ferguson Poole Marine.
