the motor starts fine runs at high speed fine have to choke engine to shut off most of the time
the problem when at a fast idle speed going around the lake it just dies
starts right up then maybe 10 minutes later dies again
      new coils points condensers
      carb cleaned
adjusted high speed jet for best rpm
adjusted low speed leaning till it misses then back it toward rich till it runs smooth
      Thanks Chuck

OK, well I am asssssuming you still are using the original two line pressure tank, let us know if someone has changed it to a single line/fuel pump system..
What do you mean by “fast idle”? I’m guessing that means just what it says, a throttle setting slightly higher than dead idle….
This issue could be many things, start with the simple stuff to avoid getting more frustrated…
Perhaps the engine is running out of fuel for some reason at slow speeds. Try having an assistant pump the fuel primer button while the engine is running slowly to see if the engine keeps running OK. Have you tried pumping up the fuel tank primer after the engine stalls? If so, does it start any easier?
I know you said the points/coils/condensers were replaced, doesn’t mean there isn’t an issue. Try testing spark once the engine has stalled and won’t restart..
Perhaps there is some water in the fuel, are you sure the fuel/oil supply is fresh/clean?

no water in gas drained tank and put new gas in
yes it is a pressure tank
engine starts up right after it dies maybe cranks for 5 seconds before starting
the rpm does not slow before it dies

Does it seem like it “sneezes or coughs” when it dies out? If so, probably is still a bit too lean…You may have to check the throttle cam pick up adjustment if this happens while running just above dead idle speed… Will this happen if you are idling as well?
I misunderstood, I thought you had trouble restarting the engine after it stalls…
I’m thinking this situation might be solved by just richening the idle mixture a slight bit more…

no coughs will rich the low speed jet tomorrow and try but it does not lose rpm before it dies like when you disconnect the tank and the rpm slows brfore it stops

I had a similar situation on a ’53 25hp a couple years ago. My motor would be going along fine and all of a sudden it would quit just like it ran out of gas. I did the usual cleaning the fuel passages and a using a different fuel tank. Could not find anything wrong. I noticed my needle valve in the carb did not have the little wire thing that holds it to the float. I ordered a new needle and seat and my problem went away. Was it possible the needle was sticking to it’s seat? It runs fine now!

I’m with labrador-guy … it sounds like fuel starvation. the only other problem I’ve had with RD was cracked coils. (if you ignore the prank my buddy played on my by switching the sparkplug leads and the aluminum tag for top cylinder!).

Now, that being said (oh, fleetwin already mentioned it), replacement coils can be flaky if they’ve been around too much moisture. Coil / Condenser shorting problems may not be evident when an engine is cold but occur when it gets up to temp.
