I can’t find the posting for the guy that is trying to restore his 57 Javelin that was painted blue and had the wrong cowl on it. Just wanted to let him know I went over to my pole barn and I have 2 extra Javelin cowls and all the appropriate chrome.

The title of his post was Golden Javelin dilemma – it’s still here on Ask a Member about 5 or 6 pages back, but maybe he’ll see your post here.

September 27, 2021 at 10:57 pm #247403I am Will Shaw, 71, and when I was 6 or 7, my Grandfather gave me his 1950 Johnson Seahorse 2.5HP. I had so many great memories of that motor that I began to buy them (and the 5HP model) at garage sales, auctions. I must have 7 or 8 by now. I’ve been looking for someone who could rebuild the carbs for 42 years.
Recently moved to Interlochen MI, and just stumbled across Lloyd Lautner on Long Lake, not 5 miles away!! Talk about a “small world!”
I would very much love to ‘apprentice” with you this winter, and perhaps do my small part to keep the old Johnson tradition alive…my email is mail@mygemsmith.com and it would be an honor to buy you lunch at Oaky’s whenever you are free. I would also pay for help from you in rigging my most recent boat, a 1952 mahogany Wagemaker Wolverine and the 1954 Big Twin Evinrude that came with it.September 28, 2021 at 11:27 am #247427Hi Will. I am at 9289 North Long Lake Road. 929-7479 Lets get together some time.
