I have a 57 Sportwin that has a fuel pump conversion. It was not pumping and I found that the mounting screw holes were stripped. Seems that a previous owner used the pressure cover and filled it with JB weld then tapped the holes to screw on the fuel pump. Is there another "real" adapter available? I need to get this fixed fast!

Tom, I believe you should be able to get a mountable bypass cover from a 1960 to 1963 Johnson/Evinrude 10hp that was meant to use a fuel pump.

bypass cover with fuel pump mount part number 0305751

bypass cover gasket part number 0301847

There’s two different styles of bypass covers for the ten horse motor and either will work. Eighteen horse covers are different altogether and won’t fit.

Instead of searching for a new cover, wouldn’t it be easier to install some 10/24 Heli Coils to repair the threads?
