      US MEMBER PAY BY CHECK

      58 Johnson 35 RDE 19-C new coils, points, condenser cleaned and redid carb
      Problem, can not keep running, carb set at Factory setting. Starts for 2 seconds
      shuts down starts, shuts down made little adjustments to setting, nothing worked. Got spark
      Could it be the carb.

          Check compression and spark. Spark should jump a gap of at least 1/4″ in an open air tester. If compression and spark are good, could be timing is off. You may need to do a link and sync. Make sure carb butterfly just starts to open when the pointer to the left of the follower roller hits the mark on the cam. If not, loosen the cam and adjust to make it so.

              Motor should continue running at idle even on one cylinder. Check link and synch and make sure you’re getting fuel delivery.

                BBC Codes are (in my humble opinion) an archaic way of formatting posts on a forum or website.  They are rarely used anymore and ARE NOT required to format posts here on this forum.  All the visual Characters that you see above the text entry field accomplish that.
