Any words of wisdom or opinions on converting a plain bearing wrist pin QD to a roller cage setup?

I suppose you know that OMC already did that in 1061-1963 models.  Parts will fit your ’59.  You have to do the whole assembly, pistons, pins, con rods etc.

61 – 63 pistons and rods are totally different from 1960 and older ones. The later parts will interchange to the earlier motors and you can still use your old crank as they didn’t change.  It might be time to start looking for a donor.

My ’59 QD has the later upgraded components in it. I also have stashed away NOS pistons, rings, pins, rods, small and big end needle bearings and some good cranks. I’m intending to use them in a future project but I don’t know if that will ever happen.

EDIT:  Am having trouble uploading photos. Says the file is too big. Never had that problem before. At least I can get one posted showing the difference in the pins.Zephyr-Prop-Nut-1

            Yes but unfortunately I’ve had no luck finding a 61 – 63.
