I just took my boat for the first time since acquiring it and realized that my controls are not working out.  I have the controls (pictured, white) but the way they are situated makes the handle hit the steering wheel regularly.  I was thinking of swapping out these controls for the old quicksilver style controls (pictured, green), but am not sure if it will work.  The old style controls are direct reverse, while mine is full gear shift, so I don’t know if it’s compatible.

If not, I can just upgrade my cable and box to the newer style 8 pin, but then the vintage look and feel of my old boat isn’t correct.

the green won’t work on full gear shift. you can upgrade to later box if you want BUT must use your wiring harness.

you can even use the old 2 lever box.

So the quicksilver dual lever that preceded the direct reverse for the two and four cylinder engines will work?  That’s one of the ones I’ve been considering.  Is the power cable and thottle/shift the same for those older ones as it is for the 62?

yes and no. the power cable (electrical) you need to keep from your 2 lever box. or can mount in the dash.

the cables are the sam except for the rack in the box . the single lever rack is about 2 teeth longer. just switch the racks.
