      Hello,

in the attached pic, the bottom fuel line comes from the gas tank.  It is hard as a rock but appears to be damage free.  The engine hasn’t run while I’ve owned it so I don’t know if it leaks at the fuel pump.  I’m thinking I should replace it with some new line (similar to the Goodyear hose on top).   Is there any reason I shouldn’t use a similar (soft) line on the bottom ?  I’m wondering if it’s supposed to be hard for some reason (heat, wear, etc).  Also, I’d appreciate knowing what size the bottom hose is ie 1/4” ?
      thanks.

I would definitely replace that lower hose.   I’m not sure if that’s even a fuel hose – it looks more like some kind of plastic tubing.    You should replace it with a rated fuel hose similar to the other Goodyear line.   I’m not certain if that hose is 1/4″ or 5/16″.

Yup, replace it. Could be the original hose, as the clamp is the original style.

I would replace that lower hose.   For whatever my opinion is worth, the original spring clamps are better than the gear clamps.  In these small sizes they tend to pull down into a “D” shape and can cause leaks.

Thanks. I agree on the clamps.

Aha!  Someone agrees with my opinion of those gear clamps.  I wonder why they are sometimes called aircraft style clamps.  I don’t think I would want to know those were used in the plane I was flying in.
