A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
February 20, 2020 at 11:00 pm #195514Please share any info. iI am new to these old beauties. One thing I need to know is I need to hook the cable from the throttle to the carb .Seems like I got one motor and got it running (1926 Johnson AB25). Next thing I knew I was bringing 5 more motors home. 1923 Elto Ruddertwin, 1929 Johnson J-25, 1939 Elto Fleetwin, 1947 Evinrude Ranger, and a 50’s Phantom Trolling motor..
Thanks, RobertFebruary 21, 2020 at 10:49 am #195528I have the same motor In nice original condition with a very worn but readable decal.
I have yet to run it. They were rated at 8.5 hp and from what I’m told live up to the rating plus some.Max amount of old motors formula

Prepare to be boarded!
February 21, 2020 at 3:53 pm #195540Every time I see one of these old motors like this running, I think I need to get away from my love affair with the mid-50s OMC motors and go further back in time and resurrect something like this one. Great motor Tubs and kudos for sharing your many tips.
