Has anyone ever had to rethread the cylinder head for a sparkplug and if so what tool did you use?
November 5, 2020 at 9:18 am #220167You’ll want to use the proper spark plug repair inserts made by Heli Coil. Not the wound wire inserts used for general thread repair. The spark plug inserts get swaged to the head so they can’t back out and a bit of red hi temp silicone is used in the installation to help transfer the heat and to seal them.

Click on the following link and lots of options for purchasing them and how to videos will appear. I buy mine at my local auto supply though.
November 5, 2020 at 4:04 pm #220183just a word of caution make certain you use the proper lenght insert so it does not stick out and get hit by the piston.
I have used these and they work great by the way
