      Hello forum,

Lost the shroud/cover for my ’92 Evinrude 25 HP (model E25ELENS). I’ve called Evinrude (who pointed me here), also called various dealers who looked without luck, and have some used dealers looking around for me that I am waiting to hear back from. Have also been scouring the internet/ebay for replacement options. I have found several options that appear to be close but not exact. Two questions for you:

      1) Do you have ideas for places I could look or ask to locate an exact replacement shroud?
      2) Do you know how I could locate the “years range Evinrude manufactured engines in this size that should fit my motor even though it’s not the exact model year?

I’d happily buy a replacement shroud for a ’90 Evinrude 25 HP if I knew the shroud would fit my ’92. I have located a few 80 and late 90s model shrouds that may work but don’t want to pay the $125 asking price if I’m not sure they’ll fit.

      Thank you for your time.

OK, this is an electric start engine, correct? Please know that the shrouds are different for the rope start vs electric start engines. The rope start shroud is a bit taller and has a hole for the recoil handle, it will fit on your engine but there will be a big hole where the recoil handle would normally be.
Also, be very careful…The air inlets on these engines have changed over the years…Old engines took in air under the cowl, I think yours takes air in through the tilt handle on the rear of the cover. So, installing an older cover might starve the engine for air even though it will probably fit on OK…

Yes, it is an electric start not rope start. I did notice the difference as I was looking at options on ebay, thank you for reminding me. I hadn’t considered air inlet differences so will be mindful of that as I am shopping around. Thank you for your response.
