      ..forgot to take pics…

      can one of you tell me if the retaining ring in which the mag plate screws go into…. should be installed with its bevel facing up or down …??

      the marine engine parts photo is ambigous ?

        The bevel goes down. The flat step goes against the retaining ring screwed to the top of the crankcase.         . . 😉
