Hi—I have one, too, that I use on a 12’ Thompson cartopper—wood frame, canvas cover. This motor is cooled by propwash. There is a water inlet behind the prop and an outlet in front of it as you face the motor from the back. You run it full speed for a little bit when it starts to get the flow started and that’s all there is to it. Alternate firing and underwater exhaust are wonderful things!

          Point gap : .020″
          Plug gap: .030″
L/U lube: Manual states Mobiloil “C”. You can use Lubriplate 105 or equivalent. If the propshaft or driveshaft bushings are worn, cornhead grease or equivalent. Frequency of greasing is based on frequency of use.

I have K-75, K-70, A-45, A-65, They’re reliable work horses. If you of a mind to, separate the powerhead from the rest of the motor. You’ll see a 1″x3/4″ hole where the exhaust enters the “leg”. On all my motors that area has been choked with carbon and goo from unburnt fuel. The exhaust gas has to make two right angle turns to exit the powerhead.Their performance picked up alot after cleaning up that area.

Point gap is .019. They need to be super clean. There is much discussion on best lube. Lubriplate 105 is one choice, but there are others.

thanks for info.I cleaned points with points file and gapped at .020 and soldered in new plug wires .they were in bad shape. so i have spark on both cylinders i have lubriplate 105 so I will use that. There is a little leakage by prop shaft. is there a seal there.anyone have a part number. i’ll have to check prop shaft bushing
