I went to mow my lawn/weeds today and only got 3 feet, right by my garage & driveway, and there is a little baby rabbit over by my truck tire. I stopped right away, figuring if I scared him off it would be a death sentence. He/she would fit in the palm of your hand and I’m sure would have had no idea of where to go, and do they still depend on the parents at that young age? 8-9 months ago I saw 2 rabbits and figured there would be lots of babies, but only saw 1 at a time since then and this is the first baby I’ve seen.
Have you ever seen what a male, pet rabbit does with a nurf ball? You will laugh your butt off when he "drills" the nurf ball at 100mph.

My dog cornered a baby rabbit in the backyard. I have NEVER heard such screaming before in my life! I thought a whole family was being murdered behind my house.

This past Spring I had a nest of 4 little ones in the corner of my carport.
I went to great lengths to let them have their space and I hope they made it.
There are so many hawks, coyotes, fox and other predators in my area that
I very rarely see a rabbit anymore.

Chris, I grew up thinking rabbits don’t make sounds !!! LOL when I was a kid,
I cornered one in a hole and grabbed his hind legs and pulled him out screaming
and kicking !!! Like you, I never heard such screaming before !!
and it worked – scared me so bad I turned him loose immediately LOL and he ran off.

I mowed around a nest for a couple weeks right in the middle of the yard at our old homeplace that had grown up in the spring before I got around to mowing it. I figured the mom would move it after I scared them off the first time, but they used the nest until the babies got big enough to leave.
