      Hi,

Yesterday I brought this tank to a meet for “show & tell.”  Wondering if anyone is able to come across the OMC service bulletin that Garry described…1953/1954.

I am supprised no mentioned the safety situation,

Be careful, those tanks can have up to 5 pounds of air pressure to supply the gas mixture to motor.

The motor supplies air pressure to the tank.  In other words a pressureized bomb if the screws on the bottom leak or blow out and static or spark from motor occurs.

There was a boater at a meet with a very large screw and gasket on botom of gas tank, a substantial leak and boat full of fumes.  He was very fortunate, had bought it earlier at meet.

I like the “reserve” idea…. does closer examination bear that out?
