I am putting this one back together after new coils, seals, etc and need to link/sync.

My question is do I use the casting mark on the cam or another point. No visible marks that I can see.

      Thank you.

No mark scribed or cast on top of the cam?

            Crosbyman,

I have that manual, but this cam is different. No line in it like others. Gotta do some more digging.

            Thanks, David

              Jim,

No marks that I can see. These 7.5’s are a different cat all around.

In the pic with the pencil you can see the casting mark and the pencil is pointing at a "possible" mark, or it could be a casting flaw.

Well for now I put the cam back on and used the mark I pointed at with the pencil. This will get things close enough to run and I can tweak it more in the Spring.

My 7’5’s are put away but I’m sure I have a box of parts in the garage. There has to be a mag plate in it so I’ll bundle up and look around around for it later.

                      Hi David!

I checked out my AD 10 and my Evinrude Fleetwin 7.5 and both have a clearly cast in "mark" in

exactly the same place on the cam as you show with the pencil point. I guess yours was just not

"marked" well when it was cast. My throttle follower makes first contact at that point as it

should so I think you would be correct in using your "fuzzy" mark as you have.

                      C’mon Spring!!
